Obituary for William C. Hall

William C. Hall, 89, of Marietta, Georgia, passed away on August 12, 2019. Celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 17, 2019, at 3:00 p.m., in the chapel of F. L. Sims Funeral Home Smyrna. A visitation will be held two hours prior at 1:00 p.m.. Interment will be held at College Park Cemetery immediately following the service.

William C. Hall was born on September 19, 1929, in Union City, Georgia, to the late Florence and Minnie Hall.

He graduated from Cabellton High School and earned a degree in Refrigeration from the Industrial Trade Institute.

William was a Corporal in the United States Army and fought at the battle of Yellow River in Korea. He was honorably discharged on August 1, 1956.

He worked for Nabisco, formally known as the National Biscuit Company, for 46 and a half years, and was awarded for being a 40 year member of the Bakery, Confectionery, and Tobacco Union. He was what most people call a workaholic, but when he was not working, he loved traveling. He has traveled many places in the world, as well as all over the United States.

William was a HUGE Nascar fan, going to see the Daytona 500 for so many years. He had seats in the Fireball Roberts stands. When 4 more seats became available, he bought those, bringing him to 10 total. He attended the races for 23 years in a row, which got him an invitation to Richard Petty’s retirement party here in Atlanta. When he was unable to travel and sit at the races due to age, he never missed a race on TV. He did, however, make it to one more in the last 11 years with his daughter, Juanita, here at the Atlanta Speedway.

He would have been 90 years old next month. He lived a full and happy life, was a good man, and a loving father. He made his peace with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in the last year, so he is at peace with himself and all of those that have gone before him. He will truly be missed.

William is survived by his daughter, Juanita G. Hall, and grandchildren, Miranda Sierra, Randy Neal (Nicole) Hall, Milissa K. (Austin) Allen, and Janna Hall.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Florence P. and Minnie W. Hall; wife, Nettie Shaw Hall; sons, Hugh N. Hall and William R. Hall; sisters, Betty Ann Hall and Beatrice Hall; and a great grandson, Chad Thomas Boltz.
